How to Really Train in Modern Tennis

tennis is not just about power or ball speed.
It is mainly about rhythm, correct footwork and fast decision-making under pressure.

Many players train a lot but improve very little because they repeat exercises without a clear structure or purpose.

Rhythm and training quality

Effective training means creating consistent rhythm.
A good training session allows players to:

  • arrive balanced on the ball

  • hit with proper timing

  • maintain stability as intensity increases

Without rhythm control, training becomes chaotic and ineffective.

Footwork and body positioning

Every shot starts from the feet.
If the body does not arrive correctly positioned:

  • control is lost

  • trajectories become unstable

  • tactical decisions come too late

In my method, footwork is trained before the stroke, not after.

Decision-making and ball reading

Modern tennis requires quick choices:

  • when to accelerate

  • when to build the point

  • when to defend

Real training also develops the ability to read the ball and make decisions, not just technical execution.
